I just want to make a cheerful post for the last day. Enjoy a picture of my dad and dog smiling at the camera. Happy Friday!

Animals where put on this planet the same reason humans were. If child abuse is such a big deal shouldn’t animal abuse? These are some photos that show what animals go through. They are raised strictly for money that comes from selling them as food. If we are raising them to kill and eat they deserve better living and food. Almost all of the animals that are killed for this aren’t being fed properly and living in bad conditions. Most people don’t think about what the animal that they are eating went through, they sit in dirty cages covered in feces and diseases then killed and sold. Personally I don’t agree with this so that’s part of the reason I became vegetarian. I hope that one day things will change for animals like this.
Over 66,000 dogs and over 21,000 cats are subjected to testing every year! It may not seem like a big deal but think about all the pain and suffering the animals went through. Also think about the changes that the testers made for these products to work. According to caninejournal.com all kinds of animals are used for example, rabbits, mice, birds, amphibians, dogs, and cats. They are used as test subjects for things like pharmaceutical drugs, makeup, and carcinogens. It even goes as far as killing a healthy animal that is pregnant so they can test on the fetuses. These animals are also put into small cages that aren’t big enough for them to live. They don’t have a lot of room to stand up and move around. Imagine being stuck in a small place and you have to go to the bathroom and eat in the same place. Most of these animals are left burned, crippled, poisoned, and sometimes killed. That’s no way to live, animals need attention, love, and a safe place to live. These animals may not get any human touch for days, animals need human interaction or they can become depressed. I used the articled linked below to help me find more information about animal abuse. I highly recommend reading it or at least skimming it because it has a ton more information that makes people more aware.

So another story-time… Back when I was nine-years old my grandma and grandpa took this dog in. This lady watch him be dumped out of a truck and thrown away like trash. She picked him up and gave him care until he could find a home. My grandma knows the lady and she heard what happened to this baby. My grandma and grandpa are very caring people and felt like they needed to do something. They didn’t want this baby to end up in a shelter or in the wrong home. So, they took him in and named him Eddie. Eddie lived to be ten-years old. This dog was spoiled. He would lay in bed with my grandma under her heated blanket and had so many toys. This dog got unconditional love from my grandparents. The dog has passed now but it doesn’t change the connection my grandparents had to this dog. Whoever had this dog before for-sure abused him. He was scared around people and would try to bite them at first. After he knew he wasn’t in danger anymore he became one of the sweetest dogs in the world.
A women named Laura Cunliffe had a kitten named “Mowgli” who supposedly ate her goldfish. The women was beyond angry at this kitten so as punishment she put the kitten in the microwave oven for a minute until it’s internal organs were cooked. When Cunliffe took the kitten out of the oven it was screeching for over an hour in pain until it died. Her lawyer defended her saying that she is mentally ill and stopped taking her medication. She was only in jail for fourteen-weeks. I don’t know how to gather my thoughts on this one. It’s a crazy story and really hard to believe this happened part of me wonders if she has any remorse after the fact. I think that if she’s capable of doing this she is capable of hurting herself or someone else. She needs to get serious help and learn that it’s not normal behavior. The cat wasn’t doing anything out of it’s nature, it’s like a hunting dog. If a hunting dog see’s a bunny it’s going to go after it and kill it because it’s the nature of the animal.

I’ve always wanted a dog. I knew that I wanted to rescue without a doubt, it was just the matter of convincing my parents and finding the one. After years, I mean like eight years, I finally was able to get my parents to agree with me that having a dog was a great idea. With them traveling with my brother for tournaments and me always staying home because of work, they thought that it would bring me company. So doing my research I found a vet I liked, and a dog that I wanted to apply to adopt for. The first dog didn’t work out but the second dog I found was Jack. A lady was selling him on a Facebook group that I happened to be in. After discussing everything I needed to know we planned a day to pick him up. Before going up, I bought everything he would possibly need like a bed, kennel, toys and food. My mother and I drove to the house to pick him up and he couldn’t be happier, I don’t blame him. I’m not one to judge or criticize but, this house was a disaster, with dog urine everywhere, unclean litter boxes and even the aquarium animals seemed to be living in discomfort. Before coming to this house I’ve only seen animal abuse, hoarding, etc on social media. After seeing this I felt guilty only being able to take the one animal. My dog was underweight, infected with worms, and never had any shots. Many of you guys probably think that it stops here, but you’re wrong. I was also told the DAY OF that he never had a real family and DIDN’T HAVE HIS SHOTS! So Jack, who was eight months when I got him, wasn’t potty trained and was super skittish of people. I knew this was the right dog for me, the person who had him was surprised how he was acting when my mom and I walked in. He ran over to us and wanted to go, when we got home he didn’t act like he missed them or was scared. He knew we were his family and he finally had a home.

By definition abuse is to treat or use something/someone in a negative way. It’s acts of violence usually caused by anger or frustration. You hear might hear it being used saying this person is being abusive or I was in a abusive relationship. Usually something is done about those, you can press charges or leave the person. For animals this is different. Animals don’t get to choose their owners nor have say in things, they are animals but, just because they are animals doesn’t mean that they don’t have feelings. When a dog is upset it will react in one of two ways, being aggressive or skittish. When an animal has become aggressive it’s more than likely because it has seen abuse, so when that person comes around it feels like it needs to protect itself. It’s like a human, if you see someone you are scared of you are either going to hide or fight them off if you need to. There are too many animals getting beaten to death, used in dog fights, or not being properly take care of. In my opinion if you took on the responsibility of a pet, it’s YOU that needs to make sure the animal is getting proper care. They didn’t ask you to bring them home and be put in a cage that’s too small or kicked. Even pets from retail stores are abused, but many people don’t know about it. Linked below is a YouTube video of abuse that animals go through before taken to a store.
WARNING: this video is pretty graphic and hard to watch. However it’s an eye-opener for everyone

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
